Hey everyone! We dropped the ball on hiking events last year, not sure if we event hosted one if I can remember. Let's start the season off strong with one of our favorite spots Borderland State Park! Plus it helps that it's a pretty easy trail for those of us who haven't been out in the woods in awhile lol

Let's meet at the Borderland State Park Visitor Center. It looks like the pin on the location in Meetup is right, but we highly recommend using your own GPS just to be safe. We'll hang around for 20-30 minutes for anyone running a few min behind since once we move it will likely be tough to find us.

Just an FYI there is a fee to park. The fee is only $5 per car with an MA license plate. The fee is $20 for any non-MA registered car sadly. In the future we'll try to find free parks to hike, or at least try to even the the costs between states since we know we have a lot of MA and RI members in the group. If you're already familiar with people in the group, may be worth considering carpooling since the non MA resident cost is a little steep.

The link to the park's website is below for more details.

This hike is dog friendly, so feel free to bring your furball(s) along for the stroll.

The hike is pretty easy. If memory serves is mostly flat terrain, so we'd probably rank it as a basic hike. It's really more of a walk if we're being honest lol Even though it's an easy trail, please just make sure you take the basic precautions. We're not going to police anyone, but we recommend proper hiking footwear, bringing water, and wearing sunscreen.

The highlight of the park is easily the Ames Mansion (which is featured as the event photo). The location has been featured in movies such as Knives Out. Not sure if the mansion will be open to tours, but it's still beautiful grounds even if we can't go inside.

It's possible we may stop somewhere after the hike to grab a drink if the group is up for it. Shovel Town Brewery has been a popular stop in the past, and we believe their outdoor patio is dog friendly. We'll figure it out on the day, but will try to make sure anyone who brings their furball along can still join us after the hike.

Ok the less fun stuff. Please see disclaimer/waiver below:
