South Table Mountain Intermediate/Advanced
Details
There's a new trail on South Table, T Rex Tooth. Let's check it out, all 1.6 easy miles of it. This will be a mostly mellow, mostly intermediate tour of South Table, but with a more advanced out and back on the Shoshonite trail, 0.5 miles one way at a brisk 9% average grade, with 11 interesting switchbacks. We'll end the ride with an intermediate/advanced out and back down Ancient Palms and Croc Tooth, returning via the Welch Ditch Trail. Bail-out options will be available for both of the more advanced sections of the ride. Overall, we'll do about 13 miles and 1200 feet with about 2:00 in motion. Class 1 e-bikes are allowed. I will be on an analog bike. Attendance is limited to 8 per Jeffco regulations.

Perhaps your greatest technical challenge will be navigating to the Camp George West trailhead. The Google directions are correct, but please note that you will be driving through the Colorado State Patrol Academy grounds to get there. We'll start from the parking lot just east of the ball field. Bring a chair and a snack for afterwards if you like. My cell is 303-619-7486.
For the record, participation in events like this one always involves inherent risks. I am not a professional guide, bike mechanic, or medically qualified to treat injuries. Be prepared to navigate, do bike repairs, and treat your injuries on your own.
