About us

[Yes - this is the group formerly known as the Relaxed Off-Road Riders] This group is intended primarily for adults at the intermediate and sometimes advanced level. Most rides will be a little too hard for genuine beginners; experts and current racers will be bored. There are of course exceptions for adventurous beginners and proficient youngsters. Our usual pace will be moderate on the flats and on descents. We will work only as hard as needed on the climbs. A typical ride will be 8-15 miles, 1.5 hours or more, and 1000 feet or more of climbing. All rides are no-drop, meaning no one is left behind, unless some faster riders in the group drop the rest of us.

Many of our active members are retired. Rides will take place on quiet, uncrowded weekdays, primarily in the greater metro area, with a few favorites in Winter Park and Fraser. E-bikes are welcome on the trails that allow them, but all rides will be led by an analog bike. Please join us!

For the record, participation in events offered by this group always involves inherent risks. I am not a professional guide, bike mechanic, or medically qualified to treat injuries. Be prepared to navigate, do bike repairs, and treat your injuries on your own.
