About us

Tell me if you can relate: As a mom of a neurodivergent, school-age daughter (K-5), it is incredibly challenging to find social opportunities with other girls for my daughter. Often times, neurodivergent girls (Autism / ADHD) don't fit in with neurodiverse boys and they don't fit in with neurotypical girls. Most special needs schools and classes are predominantly filled with male students. This group aims to bring together moms with neurodiverse daughters (Autism/ADHD) so that moms can find support and a community where we can lean on each other – exchange resources and tips without having to explain our experience to our well-meaning friends who just don’t get it. The moms of neurotypical girls and the moms of neurodiverse boys face very different realities – our challenges are quite different. There are no age restrictions on the age of your child, but realistically this group’s focus is on mothers whose daughters are in grades K-8, with a particular emphasis on K-5 so that our daughters can socialize, form friendships, and scaffold off other girls who have similar set of circumstances, while accompanied by their mother (father, other parent or legal guardian - age 18+).
