Tunnel Canyon to Birdhouse

Details
This is a repeat of the hike I did on my first time organizing a hike for Making Strides. This is one of my favorite East Mountain hikes. It is a 4.7 mile hike with 700 feet of elevation so a moderately challenging hike. There are excellent views of the Sandias along the way. There is a short but steeper out and back to a peak along the way for some added views that is optional (you can snack and wait or join for the views). Parking is often limited to parking on the shoulder of highway 337 that goes south out of Tijeras. Dogs are welcome on leash. Please bring water, a snack, sunscreen and a hat. Poles can be helpful.
