El Calderon Loop

Let’s take advantage of the beautiful weather while we still can and head out for a scenic hike at El Calderon Loop Trail near San Rafael, NM. This 3.7-mile loop is an easy route with about 374 feet of elevation gain, making it perfect for a relaxing day outdoors.
The trail is known for its unique volcanic landscape and open views, offering plenty of great photo opportunities along the way. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.
Make sure to bring water, snacks, and dress in layers. Hiking boots are recommended for comfort and stability on uneven terrain.

We’ll meet and carpool from the Walmart on Coors and I-40, gathering by the Chili’s before departure.
