This one has been on the list for a while, so it feels like the right time to bring it back.

We’ll be hiking the Placitas Loop on Forest Road 445. This is a 6.2 mile loop with about 679 feet of elevation gain. It’s generally considered an easy to moderate route, but the distance makes it a solid outing, especially if you haven’t been on longer hikes recently. Expect wide dirt roads, open views, and a steady but manageable climb.

The parking area at the trailhead fills up quickly, so we will meet at the Merc parking lot and carpool from there.

Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. Please bring plenty of water, snacks, and dress in layers since conditions can change. Hiking shoes are recommended due to the distance.

We haven’t done this trail in a while, so it feels like time to revisit it.

Looking forward to getting out there with everyone. See you on the trails.
