Oak Flat Loop
Details
This year is about pushing ourselves a little more and getting out to places we haven’t done together in a while, so it feels like a good time to head back out and explore something different.
We’ll be hiking Oak Flat Loop near Tijeras, a 5.7-mile loop with about 547 feet of elevation gain. It’s considered a moderate hike and usually takes a little over two hours at a steady pace. It’s a solid distance and a good chance to test ourselves without rushing.
Come prepared with layers, water, and whatever you need to be comfortable for a longer hike. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
If anyone is unsure about how to get there or would like to carpool, I can meet at the Smith’s on Tramway and head up together.
If you’re looking to start the year by getting out, moving, and seeing somewhere new, I’d love to have you join.
See you on the trails.
