Let's combine a fun hike with lunch afterwards. This section of the East Fork Trail starts at the Las Conchas Trailhead. The total trail length is 5.6 miles with 488 feet of elevation gain (Most of the elevation gain is not gradual, so be prepared for length and gain of the trail). It's an absolutely beautiful hike (and one of my favorites in our region) along the Jemez River until you rise up away from the canyon floor and into some elevation that provides stunning views of the Jemez area. We are going to get an early start, because parking is limited and this is a very popular trail.
Afterwards, let's go to Jemez Springs Brewhouse for lunch.
Please bring more water than you think you will need and stay hydrated. Sunscreen, hat, and bug spray are highly recommended. Poles recommended for descent back down from elevation. Dogs are welcome on trail while leashed, but you may want to contact the restaurant to confirm if they are welcome at outdoor seating there.
This is a carpool event due to limited parking at trailhead (but please plan to ride with those who have the same post hike plans that you do regarding going to lunch or not). Meeting at Home Depot on 550 for prompt 7 AM departure.
