Jaral Trail
Details
We'll be heading out to the Jaral Trail #204 Loop, a 2.9-mile moderate hike with 820 feet of elevation gain. I've done this trail before, and while it's not very long, it is very steep in sections. If you have balance issues or aren't comfortable on steep terrain, I wouldn't recommend this one.
The climb is worth it, though. The trail offers incredible views overlooking Albuquerque, and you may even spot some deer or coyotes along the way.
Please come prepared with plenty of water, hiking boots or sturdy shoes, and hiking poles if you have them. There is very little shade, so sunscreen and a hat are also a good idea.
Dogs are welcome but must remain on a leash.
