August Edition
I strongly recommend that folks arrive at the set time of 0720, as I will leave at 0730 on the dot!
Since August is usually really hot, I am moving the time up.
Hi Everyone, time for the monthly visit to the Valle de Oro NWR! I have scheduled this every month on a Sunday morning. We will walk at an easy pace for about 4.5-4.9 miles total. We do go into the bosque and walk to the river, be aware that this portion is not a maintained trail. The speed is about 2 1/2 MPH, please be sure you can accommodate that pace.
NOTE: If the entrance gate happens to be closed, just parallel park in the pull off where the informational signs are.
Great For first timers.
It's going to be HOT!, so bring & drink lots of water.
This is a great choice for new hikers; there are broad roads to walk on allowing plenty of opportunity to visit with each other and admire nature. We will take a group picture somewhere along the way.
Pets are allowed on refuge trails. Please keep all pets on a 6 foot non-retractable leash and on designated trails at all times.
See the Link below for current information from the refuge.
