We're trying something completely new with Making Strides.

You won't know where we're going until we get there.

Making Strides has never been to the location or locations we're visiting on this adventure. This will be completely new for us.

The destination is a mystery, but what you'll physically be doing isn't. I'll tell you everything you need to know about the distance, elevation, terrain and difficulty so you can decide if this adventure is right for you.

Total distance: Approximately 5 miles

Difficulty: Easy to moderate

Total elevation gain: Less than 200 feet

Elevation: Approximately 7,000 feet

Terrain: Mostly maintained dirt and gravel trails with some rocky and uneven sections

Rocky: Some areas

Inclines: Mostly gradual with one shorter, steeper section

Shade: Limited in some areas

Technical sections: None

Special obstacles: There may be an optional area involving a ladder. You can skip this portion.

Estimated hiking/walking time: Approximately 3 to 4 hours total, including time to explore

Drive from Albuquerque: Approximately 1½ hours

Restrooms: Available

Dogs: No dogs on this adventure

CARPOOLING
We will be carpooling, but here's another part of the mystery: we'll be changing up our normal meeting location for this adventure.
The meeting location will be announced before the event. We'll meet there, get everyone into carpools, and head out together.

DESTINATION: MYSTERY
This Mystery Adventure may include more than one site or location. There might be a few surprises along the way.

The only thing I'm not telling you is where we're going.

After our adventure, we'll stop somewhere for lunch before heading back to Albuquerque, so bring money for lunch.

Come ready to hike, explore, see something new and maybe learn something along the way.
And remember, no dogs on this adventure.
