Ignore the date (but prepare your hot beverages!!!)--This is a placeholder page to learn who might be interested in snowshoeing. We want to be able to communicate with you quickly if snow conditions allow us to get out and enjoy some winter activity--so please sign up if you want in on the fun! Our plan is to include all levels of expertise (Fred and I have both only snow-shoed a handful of times each). So, if you don't have snowshoes (and poles, which you will want)--borrow or get some in preparation for a Super El Nino Winter. If you are at expert level, let us know--we could use your input.
Here are some potential areas (from basic getting out and around to more intense), depending on quantity of snow and local temperatures:
Elena Gallegos (usually not enough snow, but you never know)
Doc Long Picnic Area
Tecolate Trail
Capulin Picnic Area
Oak Flats
10K Trail
Sandia Race Course (currently closed)
Valles Caldera
Santa Fe Chamisa Trail
Santa Fe Aspen Vista Picnic Site
Mt. Everest (just checking to see if you made it this far)
