Join a plein air session at Gray Whale Cove State Beach, a dramatic stretch of the San Mateo coast known for cliffs, shifting light, and ocean views. This secluded cove offers strong visual contrast and natural forms ideal for outdoor painting and sketching.
We’ll set up along the beach or overlook areas (conditions permitting) and focus on capturing the landscape on site.
Bring: Easel or sketchbook, painting/drawing supplies, layers, water, and sun protection.

• A parking lot is available on the east side of the highway; crossing the road to the beach can be dangerous due to traffic.

Note: The beach includes a clothing-optional section. Please be respectful of all visitors.
