Returning by popularity, we are going to visit Providence’s gem of renowned artists, the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Art museum. Free of charge on Sundays.
If you are on the waitlist, so could always arrive earlier and still possibly join and meet SC members are we move through the museum at different paces.
You can make a free online reservation or day of in person at the desk with zip code. https://risdmuseum.org It helps save time if you do this when you arrive, to cut down on the line.
There are 2 entrances. We are going to meet on the lower entrance (main photo). Near courthouse. This is different than our first visit to the museum.
You can ask where this is to help find the meeting spot if end up entering through Benefit Street/ café level. I am also adding a floor plan to the photos.
We will meet in the lower lobby area at 1:45pm.
Just checkin when you arrive with your free reservation or zip code, no ticket needed. You can also arrive as early as 10am when they open and then Che k back with the group on the lower level or around 2/2:15pm in the grand gallery. Leave at anytime. Freely tour the museum on your own or break into your own groups or with guests that you bring. It is a free public day, so it may be crowded.
I designed and will prepare an optional scavenger hunt for fun as you go through the museum.
I will hand it out at the meeting spot and/or when we go the the grand gallery, which will give us more room to gather and any introductions before we disperse.
There is also a selected painting to look for, that I will be leading a paint party in June.
After the 2 hours, anyone can meet in the grand gallery around 4:45pm for if would like to share about the art or listen to thoughts and reveal answers to handout. Museum closes at 5pm.
It is Sunday, so street parking is free, but you may still have to circle around and find a spot. There are locations on their website for RISD campus that are available.

Photography is allowed throughout museum- no flash. You can bring a sketchbook and draw with regular or colored pencills- no marker or paint.

We will do a general walk through or you can do self-guided including contemporary, Impressionist, Roman and Greek sculpture, ceramics, Egyptian and an entire attached house museum with colonial furniture and settings.
