Return of the Macc! (13/14 Miles, Moderately Challenging)
Details
What's this? A Macc Marauders walk actually in Macclesfield? Well it's been a while so why not...
To make this one a little different - and because I'm lazy - we'll start from my local café in Macc and walk out to Tegg's Nose via the lesser-known paths.
From there we'll circumnavigate Macclesfield Forest, popping into Forest Chapel to see if any of the local jams are in stock and continue over the wooded hill, looking out for deer and admiring the views over Trentabank and Ridgegate reservoirs.
Depending on the mood/fitness levels we can trek up to Shutlingsloe - the peakiest peak in Cheshire. If you ask me the extra mile is worth the views.
After that we'll return to Macc via Langley and the golf course for a drink at local brewery.
Starting point
Yas Bean café on Buxton Road, Macclesfield:

For the early birds there's two cafés and a bakery in close proximity at the start point.
Parking
There's free on-street parking on the surrounding roads. I'd suggest Union Road as it's nearer the post-hike watering hole:

Try not to block any driveways or park in front of houses unnecessarily.
Public transport
Macclesfield has decent transport links. Both the train and bus stations are within 10 -15 minutes walk of the start point.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome on the walk and in the brewery afterwards.
What to bring
Please bring a packed lunch, water and appropriate clothing/footwear for the weather and terrain.
After the hike
We'll grab a drink in the Taproom attached to Bollington Brewery near the finishing point.
