Pendle Hill, Ogden Reservoir (12 Miles, Moderate)
Details
It's time for the Marauders to head back up to Lancaster, this time for the historic, picturesque and son might say mysterious Pendle Hill in the AOONB that is the Forest of Bowland.
Well known for its prominence over the local landscape, Pendle Hill is more infamously known as the home of the Pendle Witches, who were tried and executed for witchcraft in 1612. Fingers crossed marauding doesn't warrant a similar punishment.
Starting in Barley, we'll first head away from Pendle Hill, following White Hough Water towards Roughlee to meet one of the witches, before checking out the Pendle Sculpture Trail around the Black Moss reservoirs.
After that it's the long, steep climb up to the windy summit of Pendle Hill for panoramic views of Lancashire. Then it's downhill all the way through Ogden Clough, past the reservoirs back to Barley.
