Padley Gorge and some Derbyshire edges - 12-13 miles Moderately Challenging
Details
A wonderful hike on the eastern side of the Hope valley in Derbyshire. This area is blessed with many wonderful edges with spectacular views. The hike starts with a moderate ascent along Padley gorge through the woods. Then we go up onto open moorland and walk on top of Burbage Rocks and Stanage Edge before descending to Hathersage via more woods, another lovely stream and fields. Then it’s back to Grindleford via Millstone edge.
I’ve decided on moderately challenging due to the length and a bit of ascent and descent. Most of the paths are quite wide with some uneven, rocky surfaces.
