Sunday Inspiration Service - Uncommon Perception

Details
So much of our training is to “know about” things – life, ourselves, spirituality, each other. But knowing about keeps us on the surface, where it’s safe, but shallow. It’s not until we deeply know that we tap into both our own inner brilliance, as well as the gifts that Life has to offer. This month, we explore “non-ordinary intelligence.” This month we explore the artist, healer, and mystic that lives within each of us.
“When we understand that things are not only as they appear to common sensible perception. We find the need to nurture an uncommon kind of perception.” ~ Mary Watkins
We'll be using the book Deep Knowing by Kim Hermanson as our inspiration.
For our first week, we begin with Uncommon Perception. "Since the Enlightenment, our view of what is real has been organized around the hegemony of a technological and materialistic worldview…[our] mind-set has made the very idea of other worlds unthinkable." (Suzi Gablik) We’ll explore expanding our perception, beyond our way of ordinary seeing and thinking.
Our weekly Sunday Service explores ideas from many faith traditions and how to live practically as a spiritual person in today's world. We are based on the Science of Mind, (not related to Scientology) the work of Ernest Holmes, one of the best known New Thought teachers and writers of the 1900's. Music, meditation, talk, youth program. We are an open and affirming community for all. We begin with a 15 minute meditation at 10:30. The service, beginning at 11, consists of an opening prayer, meditation, music, talk, and an invitation to support this community. In addition to our in-person, we will livestream to YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgO1a71-xK5o8JL8vMaPbYA
