What we're about

The History of Philosophy Group currently has 7 active members. We limit our membership so everyone who joins can participate fully. We meet in East Sac near Sac State. We usually meet Wednesday evenings at 7 pm, though that may change this fall due to class schedules for some of the members. We each prepare by reading an agreed upon assignment before each meeting. We have open discussion but we like to base our discussion upon the agreed readings. This is a great group for those missing academia or those thirsting for knowledge.

Our philosophy: we read each philosopher with sympathy learning what we can from each of them. Some we may like more than others, but all of the major philosophers add to our understanding and open us to looking at life from different points of view. Please contact Ken if you would like to join us and we can discuss the procedures , meeting place, readings, etc. Thanks for your interest.
