What to bring:
Personal identification: carry your name, address, emergency phone contacts, allergies, medicines, etc. as may assist emergency responders.
Lunch/Plenty of Water: Pack a small lunch and water that you can carry on the trail. If you pack it in, pack it out.
What to wear: Dress in layers as needed dependent on the weather. Good Hiking boots or shoes is a must. Waterproof shoes/boots work well. It is good to wear a hat to block the sun and avoid ticks. Bring a rain-repellent windbreaker for unexpected showers, wind, and cold at higher elevations as needed. Long pants help protect against poison ivy and ticks, but not required.
Other gear: Additional items you may want to bring - a whistle, sun block, toilet paper in zip-lock bags to carry out if used, and insect repellent (in warm weather).
