What we’re about
PySTL is a community organization dedicated to the Python programming language. Our mission is to provide a platform for people to share their work and/or personal projects that use Python, and to highlight the diverse industries that Python is used in. Do you have a talk or project you want to share? Please email kevinlai31@gmail.com and we can discuss.
Partners and Sponsors
- We partner with St. Louis Code and Coffee and you can often find us during the biweekly meetups. We also partner with the STL Go meetup
- We are sponsored by Manning Publishing, who generously provides us with e-books and group discounts.

Featured event

Ayncio with Websockets and Desktop GUI
Aysncio is Python's model for single threaded concurrency. It is extremely powerful in applications where multithreading is not possible like Desktop GUI programming. When combined with websockets, we can build real time applications that respond to external publish events.
Join us on October 16th, 2025, where we talk about async tasks, synchronization primitives, error handling and build our way up to a real time, concurrent desktop application.
About The Speaker
Kevin is a former restaurant owner who built his own Point-of-Sale system using python's asyncio library, websockets, and tkinter. He is currently a software developer at Xcellent Technology Solutions working with the United States Geological Survey.
Sponsors and Partners
We are sponsored by Manning Publishing. We will raffle off free E-Books at the end of the talk. Use this affiliate link to purchase books, with pystl45 coupon code for 45% off. https://hubs.la/Q03HMCFm0
We want to thank our partners at Code and Coffee and STL Go.
