About us
San Francisco Women Artists, located at 647 Irving Street in San Francisco, is a historic nonprofit arts organization which supports and promotes the talents of Bay Area artists, provides exhibition opportunities and offers an inviting space for the community to experience art. SFWA welcomes all Bay Area artists and remains firmly committed to promoting equity in the arts for all people. We host monthly art receptions and sketching events open to the public.

Sketch Club at the Blue Heron Boathouse
Blue Heron Boathouse in GG Park, 50 Blue Heron Lake Drive,, San Francisco, CA, USPlease join landscape watercolorist Carlo Grünfeld for a plein air SFWA Sketch Club outing! He has studied with several masters of the California Watercolor style and always encourages spontaneous, bold compositions with creative colors. He has also been instructing watercolor for fifteen years at the nearby Sharon Art Studio, leading beginning classes as well as landscape studies outside the studio in Golden Gate Park. He will be available to demonstrate a watercolor painting of the scenery and will be happy to give individual instruction to participants.
Transportation:
There is some free parking around the lake and the Golden Gate Park Free Shuttle also takes you there10 minute walk from Fulton and Park Presidio or 20 min walk from Lincoln and 19th Ave.
SFWA is a designated SF Legacy Business in recognition of serving the community as a valued cultural asset of the city for over 100 years. Started in the late 1800s as the Sketch Club, it is one of California's oldest arts organizations.
