What we’re about
Welcome Everyone!
We are your hosts, Albiana and Joanne, two friends hailing from different places in Canada and came to the National Capital Region (NRC) in 2022. Like so many, we are typical in our love to explore the great outdoors, embrace new culinary experiences, and partake in museums, festivals, and more!
The capital region has so much to offer newcomers, with National establishments, museums, year-round public events, the Gatineau Hills and parks, beautiful lakes - something for everyone!
Often Ottawa gets compared to the limelight of its large neighbours, Toronto and Montreal, but this region is unique in Canada for what it has to offer. We invite you to discover, be entertained, engage, and make new friendships along the way!
The ground rules:
- Some events are free, some come with a cost. You are welcome to join what you would like.
- We understand that sometimes things happen and you can't commit to an event you no doubt wanted to attend. That's okay - it happens to everyone. We ask that you be courteous and provide advance notice to give someone else the opportunity to join.
- No-shows have a two-strike tolerance.
- We ask that you come to each event with an open mind and celebrate eachother's differences.
- Have fun!
Please join us! We are a welcoming group that wants to meet you. All introverts and extroverts are encouraged to join at least one event!
We can't wait to meet you!
Please ensure to turn on notifications on your Meetup app to find out about new events!

Each student can choose 1 pot to keep and the color you would like us to glaze it in. We take care of the trimming and the firing and will let you know when it’s ready for pick-up in about 2-4 weeks.
