If so, please consider joining MVP!
This is a great Meetup volunteer group for singles, retirees, students, and individuals who are available and simply want to give back in a meaningful way and leave our world a better place.
This group also provides its members with companionship, as well as opportunities to develop friendships or future relationships with like-minded individuals who share that passion to serve!
We plan and coordinate volunteer events with charities, non-profits, and other organizations throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area and beyond!
Volunteer activities and events are open to all ages, throughout the week and 365 days per year!
Suggestions for volunteer opportunities and events from members are encouraged and welcome.

This concert is part of Rare of Breedās Nationwide Breakthrough Tour.
This event is more than a concertāitās a movement.
Outreach and community engagement activities will be focused on suicide prevention and awareness, addiction recovery, mental health support, and spiritual renewal.
Proceeds and donations will directly support:
- Suicide Prevention & Awareness initiatives
- His Place (Commercial Kitchen)
- Mental Health Services
- Will of the Warrior (Veteran Retreat Center in need of roof)
- Donny Donut Projects
MVP Volunteer Roles:
- Unloading Tour Bus
- Box Office-Free Ticketing accepting
- Donation boxes/baskets and medical emergency crowd monitoring
Free admission, parking, food and refreshments are made available to all volunteers!

What to expect
We will be setting up for Bingo and escorting residents to and from the multi-purpose room. We will be sharing time with the residents, getting acquainted, and helping them check & score their bingo cards.
Please reach out to SWVC staff if you need any assistance or have any questions while volunteering. They are usually wearing red shirts.
Security will be available to help you find parking. Enter through the main entrance and sign in on the Volunteer binder.

Light of Life Rescue Mission - "Where Hope and Healing Meet"
The Light of Life Rescue Mission can use a few dedicated volunteers to help serve dinner.
Volunteer with us as a small group serving dinner for the homeless and those in recovery and in need of a nutritious meal, doing so with a compassionate and caring heart, at the Light of Life Rescue Mission.
At this event we will have the opportunity to work together as meal servers and share in this meaningful service as group volunteers.

Here are the details for your volunteer shift. This opportunity takes place at our new shelter at: 234 Voeghtly Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
Parking
Parking is available in the main parking lot right next to the building. Alternative parking lots are also available.
What to Expect:
Dinner Volunteers will help in the following areas: - Check-in guests - Serve dinner - Wash dishes - Engage with guests - Clean the dining hall: includes wiping off tables, sweeping, and mopping - Help kitchen team with additional tasks
Volunteers will be required to wear (provided by Light of Life):
Apron
Hairnet (as needed)
Gloves
Non-slip shoes (suggested)

Meal Ministry for Men, Women, and Children
Light of Lifeās Meal Ministry provides breakfast and dinner seven days a week to men, women, and children in need. Staff cooks and volunteers work together to prepare and serve nutritious meals. Our Voeghtly Street Mission dining area seats over 80 individuals and women and children have their own separate dining room where they can feel safe and comfortable.
