The Blessing Board Volunteer Team - Day of Blessing!

"Furnishing Homes with Love"

There are opportunities for registered volunteers to lend some help on behalf of THE BLESSING BOARD at their North Warehouse location for the organization's Day of Blessing.

What to Expect

We will be helping out fellow volunteers and The Blessing Board staff with moving furniture and home furnishings into vehicles for pick up by families in need. We will also be assisting The Blessing Board Ambassador as they guide a family through the process of receiving home furniture and furnishings.

IMPORTANT STEPS = 3

1. SIGN UP the TBB MVP LINK

Search for our MVP group in the volunteer matrix along with the corresponding date and role.

2. VOLUNTEER ROLES

Ambassador Assistant = 2 SLOTS

The Ambassador Assistant will assist the Ambassador as they guide a family through the process of receiving furnishings. This position is a good introduction to TBB and provides a great overview of what happens on a Day of Blessing.

Carrier / Loader = 3 SLOTS

The Carrier/Loader sees that all of the items chosen by the family are efficiently and effectively loaded with care into their vehicle. Additionally, they help restock the Showroom floor when directed.

3. RSVP with MVP

Although not necessary, I would recommend bringing some gloves for gripping and protection and closed toe shoes (and/or safety shoes).

The volunteer work takes place in a clean, well organized and climate controlled warehouse.

This is a great opportunity for us to provide heartfelt assistance and to demonstrate hands on compassion and caring to those in our communities in need!

Feel free to contact the Organizer with any questions, input, or suggestions regarding this event.

VOLUNTEER ASSIGNMENTS

Ambassador Assistants

The Ambassador Assistant will assist the Ambassador as they guide a family through the process of receiving furnishings. This position is a good introduction to TBB and provides a great overview of what happens on a Day of Blessing.

Ambassadors

As ambassadors for Christ, the Ambassador will represent Christ with those they serve, sharing the knowledge that God loves them. They will guide a family through the warehouse, helping them to choose furnishings.

Carriers / Loaders

The Carrier/Loader sees that all of the items chosen by the family are efficiently and effectively loaded with care into their vehicle.

Additionally, they help restock the Showroom floor when directed. They must be able to lift 20 lbs. alone or 50 lbs. with a partner. No experience necessary to be a Carrier.

Warehouse Helpers (Tasks)

Assist the Warehouse Manager with various warehouse duties as directed. Volunteers do not need to commit to 6 hour shift if unable. Inform Volunteer Coordinator.

Parker / Carrier

The Parker will work in tandem with the Registration Coordinator (RC), greet families when arriving with their vehicles, confirm their appointment, and direct initial placement of their vehicles. With the RC, the Parker will see that people are served and registered efficiently. They will stage trucks for loading, direct driver into the building, or on street as they determine appropriate.

Registrar

The Registrar will check clients in as they arrive and provide them with an overview of the Day of Blessing. The Blessing Board Volunteer Coordinator will train the Registrar.

WAIT LIST

Feel free to RSVP even if all slots are full.

You will be put on a WAIT LIST for the event and if circumstances prevent members who have already RSVP'd from attending. This will enable you to have an opportunity to take their slot.
