Monday June 23 meet @ 12noon EASTERN time (which would be 11am CENTRAL time) with a little over 2 hour drive there from the Nashville area.

Thursday June 26 leave by the afternoon
- 4ish days and 3 nights *
No fee, just your company is all that's needed but if you slip me a $ or $$ that would be welcome.
I will need to give you some paperwork to put in your car so it doesn't get towed.

We will meet at 12 noon at the Virgin Falls trailhead parking lot (located at 2080 Scotts Gulf Road, Sparta, Tn. 38583). It's often crowded so if you can get there early it would be good.
Cell service: is hit or miss from the parking lot, is excellent from Martha's Pretty Point, & non-existant elsewhere.

The hike to our campsite on the first night is about 2 miles in. We will stay at Martha's Pretty Point campsite #7 that 1st night. There is uneven footing on this trip and a small water crossing. There are hills that I, for one, will need to take rest stops on as we go up so no worries if you are a slow hiker!
The 2nd day (Tuesday) we will be hiking down to canpsite #10 which is near Virgin Falls. It should be approx a 3-4 mile hike mostly downhill with some rock scrambles. We'll also pass by some gorgeous waterfalls on our way down. We'll have time to explore the falls while there.
The 3rd day (Wednesday) we'll hike back up (a lot of uphill but we have all day to rest as we go along with gorgeous views so don't fret) to Cable Crossing Area campsite #3 which is right next to some waterfalls.
And last but not least, on Thursday we'll leave going a different path than we initially hiked in (approx 1.5miles to the parking lot). However, if the cable crossing water is high, we'll go back the way we came the first day.

Bring a tent/hammock setup, backpack, food for the 4ish days we are there, a way to cook your food, at least 2 full bottles of water, toilet paper, suitable clothing, flashlight, lighter, & other appropriate supplies.
Also consider gear to bring in case it rains.
There are no bathrooms or showers here so a trowel, toilet paper, and baby wipes are a must. Don't bury your TP - put it in a baggie and carry it out. No garbage or food is to be left behind.
Be sure to bring a bag & cordage to hang your food in a tree (critters love human food).
Hopefully there will be plenty of firewood around from branches & fallen trees.
I will be bringing bear spray and an emergency calling device (which we hopefully won't need!)
✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪✪
If warm out, it can be humid due to the falls.
