Who is this for:
This MeetUp serves as a check-in with the community of designers and developers in the City of Memphis. Whether you're a passionate beginner looking to get into tech, an experienced professional eager to share your knowledge, or someone curious to learn from others, this MeetUp is perfect for you.

Agenda:

  • Mix, Mingle, and Munch (15 minutes)
Grab a plate, say hello, and get to know others in the room.

  • Keynote Speaker: Lawrence Lockhart (45 to 60 minutes)
Topic: Control Freaks Don't Scale: How to Score Wins in UI Creation with Shared Workflows
Description: Does meticulous control over UI/UX actually slow your team down? This talk dives into the “control freak” anti-pattern, revealing how it stifles creativity and scalability. Learn to transition from a gatekeeper to an enabler by architecting for delegated UI creation. We’ll cover strategies for creating effective guardrails and empowering your team with modern tools like visual builders and specialized SDKs, so you can build faster, happier, and more innovative teams.

  • Community Social Hour & Networking (45 to 60 minutes)
Following the talk, we’ll open the floor for networking and conversation. This is a great chance to discuss the topic, connect with other tech professionals, ask questions, or just hang out.
A safe space for attendees to share insights, ask questions, or briefly present what they’ve recently learned or built.
