Details
Come join us in room 225 at the Fedex Institute of Technology (FIT) at the UofM campus
The WiFi standard started off with what they called "Wired Equivalent Privacy" for encryption. These days, that kind of connection could be cracked wide open in a matter of seconds. This month, we'll cover the basics of WiFi hacking and discuss how its security has developed over the years.
...Imma be honest, I haven't needed to crack a wifi packet in years, but I'll bring some hardware and try to do a live demo and let everyone have a go at it. Plus, I'm always happy to share stories from back in the day (-:
As always, MEMSEC is very n00b friendly and someone here can certainly answer whatever questions you may have!
This meetup is FREE and open to the public with Garibaldi's pizza!
