The topic of the meetup will be “Mendix on Edge”: diving into one of the more recent additions to the Mendix service portfolio. Deploying Mendix on Edge devices, allowing low code applications to support factory shop floor processes.
During this meet-up we will kick-off with exciting insights into edge computing and its use cases and considerations. Subsequently, we will take you on our journey of implementing a Mendix on Edge solution, sharing with you our highs and lows.

Grid Inteligence
We all know about grid congestion and challenges society faces as a result of it. Smart technologies such as demand-side management are key to combat grid congestion. The National Energy Dashboard (NED) which is an joint initiative from Gasunie en TenneT provides free data on energy consumption, production, transport and storage.

I present the Footprint Reductor as a lightweight plug-and-play Mendix module to bridge the gap between the data from the NED and Mendix applications.

• Lightweight: Find out how we kept flexibility while we were eliminating the need for technical know-how.
• Performance: Learn how we took the client state into account to enable optimal performance.

Tom Warmerdam
Tom is a Mendix developer with 8 years of experience and currently part of the GenAI Innovation team at Mendix. Together with the team, he works on integrating AI capabilities into the platform and has published a range of platform-supported GenAI components in the Mendix Marketplace. With a focus on developer experience and by making advanced AI features easily accessible to Mendix users, Mendix allows developers to create smarter AI-augmented applications with ease.

Emily E. von Bergen T.
Emily is a Product Manager in the Agentic Application and Orchestration team (Smart Apps) at Mendix, bringing over 6 years of experience in the data and AI field. With a background in data science, she focuses on understanding customer AI adoption journeys, particularly in generative AI. Emily is instrumental in understanding customer demand, and orchestrating communication between engineers, solution architects, and product managers.
