Science on Tap: Where Boise's Water Comes From...and Where it Goes
Details
***INFORMATION ONLY***
Where does Boise’s drinking water come from—and how does it get to my faucet?
Join us at Oldspeak, Garden City for an evening of conversation with two Boise-based BSU scientists who study water in the Treasure Valley. Together, they’ll trace Boise’s water story: how snow becomes our water supply, how it’s measured and managed, and how we shape its future.
This program will feature short talks followed by discussion, with plenty of time for questions.
Speakers
- Hans-Peter (HP) Marshall, Associate Professor Geosciences will explore how snowpack functions as Boise’s largest natural reservoir—and how scientists use radar, remote sensing, and field measurements to understand snow.
- Kendra Kaiser, Research Assistant Professor Geosciences will focus on what happens next: how water moves through watersheds, infrastructure, and human systems, and how data and modeling support water management in our communities.
