Field Trip - Bruneau Petrified Wood

Join a group for this geologic field trip to a new area south of Bruneau, Owyhee County to see and collect Petrified Wood. You can collect petrified wood and other fossils without any digging! The trip will be led by geologist, Barb Beatty.
Meet to carpool from the Albertsons Parking Lot (near McDonalds on S Federal Way and Hwy 21) at 9:45 am, departing at 10 am.
We will spend ~2 hours exploring a new area and collecting petrified wood and having lunch. On our return, we will stop at Bruneau One-Stop (retail store) and be back to the meetup location by 3 pm.
Sponsored by Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology (IMMG), 2455 Old Penitentiary Rd, Boise.
Pre-registration is required. Full refunds if the IMMG cancels the trip due to the weather.
FEE: There is a $20/person cost for non-members of the IMMG but people can join the IMMG for $25/year and participate in all of the 4-5 geologic field trips for free. Family memberships are $45/year. Children are always free.
