Visit the Hidden Gem -- Lawson's Legacy Emu-Z-Um
Details
Let's spend some time exploring Owyhee County history with a self-guided tour of the 50 rooms of artifacts at the family-friendly, Snake River-front Lawson's Legacy Emu-Z-um in Grandview, ID. The artifacts have been collected over 60 years by the previous owners. The new owners (young family) spend their time maintaining and improving the museum while they live on-site and homeschool their daughters.
$15 admission fee (cash or check)
Location is about 70 minutes from Boise. We'll allocate a couple of hours to walk through the well-themed rooms/exhibits, and then we
can enjoy our sack lunch at their shaded picnic tables or in the new Branding Iron if the weather doesn't cooperate.
Some examples of what they are displaying...
*Silver City Schoolhouse Museum
- 1950s room
*doll room - 1860s Western town
*Native American room - train station with running model trains
*reproduction of a silver mine - rocks/gems
*Silver City’s first hand-built automobile - Mining memorabilia
*plenty of antique farm machinery
What to Bring
- Packed lunch / Drinking water
*Sturdy walking shoes - Sunscreen / Hat
*Cash for your driver or drinks purchased onsite (I just learned that they "will have coffee and hot cocoa for sure and the girls can have some lemonade and pastries ready. That's all by donation.")
IMPORTANT: Cash or check for the admission fee ($15)
We'll likely have two carpool locations: Lowe's Meridian and McDonalds Federal Way
