What we’re about
SOCIALISE
MAKE NEW FRIENDS
BE PART OF MERSEYSIDE'S VIBRANT RAINBOW COMMUNITY:)
Friendly popular SOCIAL GROUP, meeting Tuesday evenings, 4-weekly, in LGBTQ-friendly,and Gay Village, venues in and around Liverpool city centre.
We currently meet in "Lime Street Central", 51 Lime Street(between Lime St station and Lidl), Liverpool L1 1JQ; ALTERNATING WITH:
"PRIDE COFFEE" AT THE "NAVY BAR, 25/27 STANLEY ST, LIVERPOOL L1 6AA
MEMBERS AND ATTENDEES HAVE TO BE 18+
LGBTQ PEOPLE ONLY.
{the Q in LGBTQ refers to anyone who is under the umbrella of Queer; it does not refer to people who are just STARTING to question their sexual orientation and/or gender identity, (as in Q for questioning); ie you have to be ready enough -with support!- to actually ATTEND a (in real world)meet; we will even meet you at the door, if we have the resources on the day:}
For all lgbtq people , from age 18 upwards(average attendance is about 50-70 people!)
ALL MERSEYSIDE LGBTQ(18+) GROUPS ARE TRANS-AFFIRMATIVE
*NB:
THIS GROUP IS NOT TO BE USED/APPROACHED by people researching “lgbtq experience” in any regard.
Nor is it available for monetisation;though we DO pay our way in all the venues we use!
The Organiser is not responsible for the drinks charges policies(offers etc )of venues;attendees should ask the venue bar staff about these. Thanks😊
We are not able to offer any help with Home Office applications for asylum, or take group photos, or screen-shots of Organisers' phones for that reason
PLEASE NOTE, this is a Social Group; not a support group.
However, if anyone is struggling, we do chat to you-as hosts- and signpost you to more specific support(see below) :)
This, obviously, does not mean that you cannot attend our group; but you can have support, AND meet other lgbtq people in our Social Group, ie in parallel!:)
THE GROUP HAS ONE OR TWO WELCOME/INTRO MEETINGS AT 6.30,and about 6.50, ie at THE START of each meet, so you can get to know others in a relaxed way.
So the group is appropriate for people who have recently come out as lgbtq; and/or as an alternative to the commercial lgbtq scene;or if you are new to the area, or to our group in particular
There are a minimum of two hosts(usually three) so you will be individually welcomed, whatever time you arrive:)
There are plenty of different-sized tables, so you can easily mingle, if you want to!
***
Group established over 10 years.
PLEASE NOTE; this is a group where you can be yourself(including as lgbtq!).
The venues are known LGBTQ-friendly venues; but there will be members of the general public at the venue. At our current, regular venue- "Lime Street Central"-- we book a semi-separate area.
We meet in venues where you can either have a full meal(including veggie!); or JUST an alcohol/soft drink or tea/coffee/cake
£6 MINIMUM SPEND(recommended) PER PERSON(for the whole evening!)
NB ACTS OF GOD: the Organiser reserves the right to CANCEL/POSTPONE the event, including at short notice, in the case of, eg , Organising Team illness, power cuts, cancellation by venue, etc.
We have a policy of mutual respect; and everyone is treated equally regardless of gender identity, race, sexual orientation, class, HIV status, (dis)ability.
PLEASE NOTE,as this is a private group(meeting on the premises of others' venues;we have no premises of our own), anything that occurs between attendees or members is a private matter between them; and should be resolved between individuals.
However, we ask that members and attendees are respectful of others' sexual, emotional and physical boundaries in every way.
PREDATORY(emotional or sexual) BEHAVIOUR IS *NOT* TOLERATED
As this is a private group, and attendees are on a private guest-list,the Organiser reserves the right not to admit,or to remove, members, without explanation.
Please note, we signpost people, who want support,-with sexual orientation/gender identity/sexual health issues-to, for example, the Sahir House; its not that we do not want to help; its just they have expertise in these fields☺. You are still welcome to attend our group, in parallel!:)
You can contact private message me on here; or email me on:on stev_arts@yahoo.co.uk, if you have any additional questions. I am Steve, the Organiser.
We also have a Book Group; and "Queer the Page" Writing Group(they share a page, with separate meets/posts):
