Come join Meteor San Francisco for Worldwide Meteor Day (http://meteorday.com/)!

The whole Meteor community is holding simultaneous meetups around the world on Nov 6, open to anyone who is interested in learning more about the Meteor platform. You’ll get to meet developers who have built things with Meteor here in San Francisco, play with the new Meteor examples and tutorial, and have Q&A with a core developer. We’ll have free Meteor t-shirts and stickers in as well. Be sure to bring your laptops for the deploy fest and open coworking.

If you’ve built a Meteor app before, we would love to see it during the show & tell part of the meetup. This could be any project large or small, whether that’s a complex production app or just something you threw together in a weekend. Sign up at lightning-talks.meteor.com (http://lightning-talks.meteor.com/). Schedule:

6:30pm - Doors open. Food, drinks, and mingling.

7:00pm - Introduction to Meteor. Showcase of new tutorial and example apps.

7:30pm - Deploy fest. Chance for everyone to install Meteor and deploy an example app.

7:59pm - Short break. Take a group photo

8:00pm - Q&A. Q&A with Meteor Core Dev.

8:30 - Show & Tell. Built an app with Meteor before? We want to see it! Short, informal demos or talks from local developers.

~9pm - Open coworking / socializing. Build something cool with what you’ve just learned.

UPDATE: Wow, HUGE number of signups! :-D I don't want to turn anyone away on such a special day, so here's what we'll do with RSVPs: You will need a "Going" RSVP to sit in the main downstairs "classroom", but we will have hang out space upstairs for waitlisters. I'm also going to be moving more people from the waitlist onto the "going" list over the next few days (I'd set the initial cap low to make sure Meteor newcomers are able to get seats too).

So please do RSVP for a chance to get into the classroom! And if you're still waitlisted Nov 6, you are still welcome to come by. Hopefully we will have enough extra space upstairs for everyone... if we physically overflow the building, we'll try to send splinter groups to nearby cafes.

Looking forward to seeing all your awesome faces. :-)
