Meteor Night

Meteor Night is Meteor's flagship event, where developers from around the Bay Area gather to learn about current events in the Meteor community and practical applications of Meteor to the real world.

Come join us for food, drinks, and good company. Our guest speakers will discuss the future of Meteor, success stories, and tips for using Meteor in production.

In addition to talks, there will be interactive workshops teaching advanced Meteor concepts.

Please bring your laptop! The workshops will be much more fun if you do.

You can attend in-person or watch the live stream. If you're busy that night, no need to worry - we'll post all of the talks on the Meteor YouTube channel (youtube.com/user/MeteorVideos) after the event. The live stream link will be published here before the event.

Doors open at 5:30PM. Talks start at 6:30PM.

The location of the meet up is 1446 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94102. It will be on the left side from the restaurant.

We will migrate to "Hazel Southern Bar & Kitchen" around 9:30pm after the meetup which is right next door to the event.

If you are planning on taking BART/Muni, the closest stop will be Civic Center.

Workshops

Workshops consist of a brief presentation followed by break-out groups
of 2-3 people working through guided exercises. Our engineers will be available to provide assistance in solving the exercises. Please bring your laptop.

"Meteor Performance" — Eric Birdsall (Qualia, Software Engineer)
Learn how to effectively diagnose and fix Meteor performance issues.

"Meteor Debugging" — Travis Geis (Qualia, Software Engineer)
Learn how to quickly track down and fix bugs in your Meteor application.

Both the workshops will cover a variety of techniques and tools, with an emphasis on diagnosing issues on live production servers.
