Members 2025 year in review
Bemis Library, 6014 S Datura Street, Littleton, CO, USAll,
I have been wanting to do this for some time and must admit I got the idea to finally make this happen via another meetup group which was very successful.
Let's share some of our most memorable images taken in 2025 to our group members. Each member will have the opportunity to share up to 10 images (hopefully some from our meetups) and discuss each one. Nothing like seeing our images on the big screen and most importantly it may provide us all with some new creative ideas in our own photography as well. Even you do did not wish to share images this will be a great way to get to meet other members of the group. Hope you join us.
Upload process:- Create a folder with your full name
- Include the images your wish to share
- Image format: .jpeg/ 2000 pixels long edge/max size 2.5M

Winter Hike to Dream Lake
Wooly Mammoth Park-N-Ride, 18560 U.S. Hwy 40,, Golden, CO, USAll,
Looking forward to revisiting this amazing winter location in RMNP. Apologies for doing this during the week but ski traffic is just too brutal to host this on a w/e.
This meetup will take us to 3 locations: Bear, Nymph and our final destination Dream Lake. I am hoping it has not snowed and the lake will be frozen but you never know. This is what I consider a moderately challenging hike due to the winter conditions, however, you do not have to go to Dream as Bear lake is an easy walk from the parking lot. That being said Dream can be a bit challenging in winter conditions. I will be checking the forecast and will be canceling "if" there has been a lot of snow beforehand or there is snow forthcoming the day of the meetup.
Clothing: Be sure to dress warningly, insulated pants, hat, gloves (I bring a pair of liners to shoot with), winter hiking shoes. If you have them bring micro spikes or snow shoes as it can be easier to walk (just to cover the bases). Also be sure to bring water and snacks or a lunch food.
Photo equipment:
Camera with wide and semi telephoto (24-70/120mm) lens
EXTRA batteries
Lightweight tripod
Warm Camera cover if you have one.
Travel plan: We will meet at the Mammoth Park n Ride of i70 Section BB (by the Exxon station of 40). Based on the number of participants we will carpool to RNMP (National Park Pass required). We will then head to the Bear Lake parking lot.

Members Critique Session
Bemis Public Library, 6014 South Datura Street, Littleton, CO, USAll,
This will be a little different take as members will be providing the feedback. The key to this meetup will be storytelling and what aspects of the image are taking away from the story. Storytelling elevates photography by creating deeper connections, making images memorable, and communicating ideas or feelings that words can't always capture, turning simple pictures into powerful visual art.
Here are a few guidelines to a good story
- Subject: The focus, which can be a person, animal, or even an object, representing a character in the narrative.
- Context:The environment and background that provide clues about the story, like a desolate landscape or a cluttered room.
- Conflict or Emotion: The tension, desire, or feeling within the image, achieved through lighting, expression, and situation, making the viewer curious.
- Composition: How elements are arranged (framing, lines, space) to guide the viewer's eye and enhance the narrative.
- Details: Small elements that add depth, intrigue, and clues to the larger story.
Process:
- Submit up to 3 images in a folder with your name.
- Include a title in the file name (one key to a good image is the title)
- Image format: .jpeg/ 2000 pixels long edge/ max file size 2.5M
- Include images that you would really like see improved.
- 1 to 2 people will be selected from the audience to provide feedback.

I think this is be a fun and rewarding session for everyone who wants to see their photography improve and maybe give you some goals for the coming year.
