Downtown Photo Walk with Fun Photography Assignments

Details
One of my favorite artists is Valérie Jardin, a French photographer and teacher living in the US known internationally for her street photography workshops. In this photo walk we will each pick an assignment (or two) from her book "Street Photography Assignments: 75 reasons to hit the streets and learn": street portraits, silhouettes, shadows and light, color, gesture, humor, minimalist urban landscape, hats, dogs, iconic landmarks, and so on and so on.
The leader will bring handout sheets for about a dozen of the assignments for you to choose from, each one with a sample photo illustrating the idea. If you prefer a different assignment you'll be able to take a phone photo of a page from the book.
We'll meet in front of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at 14th Street and Champa and walk no more than several blocks from the starting point, roughly a mile total. There is ample paid public parking at the Denver Center for Performing Arts. This is also just across the street from the Convention Center light rail stop.
Bring whatever camera and lens you feel most comfortable with, even your phone. However, a 35mm or 50mm focal length is probably the best overall choice for this type of photography. And be prepared to have fun learning from Valerie's assignments.
