Who goes there?
John Carpenter’s magum opus is playing at the Hollywood theatre!
In a remote Antarctica research base, a group of American scientists stumble upon an alien life form capable of assimilating and imitating any host it encounters. Paranoia starts to manifest between the crew as friends twist to foes in a bloody battle to survive the freezing hell.
This really is the perfect horror movie.
In an Agatha Christie closed circle set up you have a marriage between psychological horror and creature feature, brought to life by the best practical effects within the genre.
Guiding you through this sublime nightmare is Carpenter’s wide angle framing that amplifies the dread of isolation, while Ennio Morricone’s brooding score pulsates throughout.
I have to give a warning for this one as it gets very gory and depicts animals being attacked.

The venue:
I havent been to The Hollywood Theatre before but it looks like seating is first come first serve, so we’ll probably have to line up outside before the doors open. I’d recommended grabbing tickets online as this will sell out.
The website mentions about the option of reserving a table (we still need general tickets) so I’ll enquire about that.
Lemme know in the comments if you’d prefer a table or not!
You can grab your ticket here:

The plan will be to meet up at 6pm to grab a coffee nearby for introductions and catch ups, then head to the cinema before the doors open. It’ll be a later finish but we can keep the discussions going if people are up for it.
See you there and remember, don’t trust anyone! 👀
