Details

Metropolitan Walkers is part of the Ramblers, Britain's walking charity. All welcome for 3 'taster' walks, after which please join the Ramblers - info on the Met Walkers website

Wiggly walk which takes us from Polegate to Seaford which will include walking a section of the Souths Downs Way and walking up the White Horse before coming into Seaford along the seafront. The walk will be reasonably fast paced and hilly with several steep ups and downs. The walk gives great views of the South Downs and the sea throughout the day. Total ascent of 700m.

Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water. Pub stop at the end with opportunities to go sea swimming as well at Seaford.

Travel: Please take the 08:54 from London Victoria (dep. Clapham Junction 09:01, East Croydon 09:10), arrive Polegate at 10:09.

Please buy return to Polegate. On returning from Seaford, please buy a single from Seaford to Lewes.

On arrival into Polegate, please wait away from the main entrance so passengers can exit and enter the station.

With many people travelling to the coast during the summer, the train is likely to be busy. Therefore try not to board the train in groups to avoid having to squeeze onto the carriage. Please use the full length of the train.

Grading: Strenuous.
For an explanation of the gradings, please see the FAQ - please consider both the length and grade when choosing a walk.

Finish point: Seaford
