Overground and Out of Town - Lioness Line (14 miles/Moderate)

Details

Metropolitan Walkers is part of the Ramblers, Britain's walking charity. All welcome for 3 'taster' walks, after which please join the Ramblers - info on the Met Walkers website

Well, the series couldn't really resume with anything else but the Lioness Line...This walk takes in part of the Ebury Trail and then climbs gently along the full length of the Chess Valley, from suburbia to chalk stream. It finishes at the Underground in Chesham, named for the river's source. Note this is the same route as January 2024 under a different name, though returners are very much welcome!

Please bring packed lunch, pub stop at end of walk.

Terrain: Mostly well-made paths but may be some slippery stretches.

Travel: Take 10:13 from London Euson, arr. Carpenders Park 10:53. Alternatively, take 10:24 from London Euston, change at Harrow & Wealdstone (arr. 10:35, dep. 10:45), arr. Carpenders Park 10:53. Use Oyster/contactless. Walk starts from the larger car park to the east of the tracks - take the underpass to the right at the foot of the ramp from the platform.

Grading: Moderate.
For an explanation of the gradings, please see the FAQ - please consider both the length and grade when choosing a walk.

Finish point: Chesham Underground station (zone 9)
