Chichester to West Wittering (13 miles/Moderate)

Metropolitan Walkers is part of the Ramblers, Britain's walking charity. All welcome for 3 'taster' walks, after which please join the Ramblers - info on the Met Walkers website
Route starts by following Chichester Canal, and then continues along the shores of Chichester Harbour, a large natural harbour with nice views. Last part of the route goes around the sandy East Head peninsula and onto West Wittering beach. Swim/paddle option depending on weather!
Pub stop at end in West Wittering, and pub stop during the walk for drinks only. Please bring a packed lunch.
Terrain: Canalside, coast path, woods, beach
Travel: Take the 9:35 from London Victoria (Clapham Junction 9:42, East Croydon 9:53), arrive Chichester at 11:07. Meet outside the southern entrance to Chichester Railway Station.
Buy a return to Chichester.
First part of journey back from West Wittering is by bus, route 52 or 53 to Chichester from outside The Wittering pub. Buses take 20-30 min and run approximately half hourly.
Grading: Moderate.
