Metropolitan Walkers is part of the Ramblers, Britain's walking charity. All welcome for 3 'taster' walks, after which please join the Ramblers - info on the Met Walkers website

The walk starts in Rochester and it leads out of the city by the Medway Valley Walk. We then hike across the Nashenden Down Reserve and then onwards past the Burham Down Reserve. We will then proceed past Wouldham Farm and stop at the Robin Hood pub for drinks; you can also get tea or coffee there. We shall then proceed onwards to Kit Coty, which is ancient burial site, and stop there for lunch. We will then carry on to Detling where we shall stop for a coffee break., and then proceed onwards to Bearsted, where the walk ends. There will be a pub stop at the end of the walk.

Please bring a packed lunch.

Travel: Take 09:40 from Victoria, arr. Rochester 10:20. Meet outside the ticket barrier in the main station.

Buy return to Rochester. For the return from Bearsted there is a regular hourly train service from 18:21 onwards.

Grading: Moderate.
