C&O Canal Two Day Hike!

Join us for this great hike on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal! This time we're doing two days, but all are welcome to only do one day or the other!
Day 1 is Sunday, which will be 12.5 miles. Day 2 is 18 miles.
Note that the entire trip, both days, is almost all canal towpath save for just barely over a mile walk between the hotel and the canal.

There are many historic locks, lock houses, aquedcuts, and other structures on this one including farm houses and such.
The entire way has us pretty much beside the beautiful Potomac River.
Day 1 will be between McCoy's Ferry and Williamsport, the shorter of the two days.
Each day has no more than four road approaches, putting us in peaceful settings just about the entire time.
Additionally, day 2 involves the incredible "Big Slackwater" (pictured here), where we will pass over an awesome walkway where the canal towpath was washed out. The canal and Potomac River became one at this location.

We have a couple of rooms booked at the hotel in Williamsport just for Sunday night. If anyone besides the regulars wish to join, it might be necessary to book extra rooms.
I plan to head down there Sunday morning and drive back Monday night. Probably leaving NJ at 6:30 Sunday morning.
Sunday hike will start about 10, and Monday at 9.
