What we’re about
This group is for all South Florida digital photographers who want to go out and take photos of interesting public places and do not want to do it alone… in addition an expert photography instructor will lead and individually coach participants in the art / science of photography.
There will be a meeting every 2-3 weeks at one of the many interesting South Florida photo-op locations to expand the participants’ digital photography knowledge and capture great images. These workshops will stress practical (on the spot “photo think”) to get the best digital image exposure as baseline and from there test variations of the mechanical (camera) and artistic (composition) aspects of Photography to create a more interesting and appealing digital image.
The instructor / coach for these photography workshops is a graduate from the New York Institute of Photography and has been involved in photography for over 50 years, as a hobby and for business. Originally a practicing Engineer in South Florida, he retired from Broward County as a high school teacher and taught at Broward Community School Digital Photography / Post Edit classes, and Field Photography Workshops for over 20 years.

•Online🌐 Presenting 2/25 at 7 pm: iPhoneography by Elise S, Arnold P and Gary L
Online42 attendees from 6 groups“What the ‘I’ Sees”: An iPhoneography Presentation
In this presentation Elise Schreiber, Arnold Plotnick and Gary Levy
will share how their “i” sees: from journalistic street moments to lyrical, interpretive imagery and beyond, highlighting the surprising power of the phone we carry every day.
iPhoneography—a word born with the release of the first iPhone in 2007—has evolved into an entire creative discipline. What began with a simple 2-megapixel camera has grown into a remarkably powerful tool: high dynamic range, multiple lenses, panorama and macro capabilities, and an ever-expanding universe of editing apps right at your fingertips. Traveling light with an iPhone lets photographers act instantly, remain unobtrusive, and experiment freely with angles, close-ups, long exposures, and low-light scenes—opening creative doors that bulky gear sometimes can’t.
