MIC's Podcast Club - w/ BBC Sounds & Podcast making QnA
Details
This month we welcome special guest Louise Kattenhorn, BBC Sounds Podcast Commissioner.
She'll be swinging by to tell us about what's happening at BBC Sounds, podcast challenges and successes at the Beeb, how their podcast commissioning works and what they reckon makes a great podcast (based on what their audiences are responding well to)
π About Louise
Louise commissions podcasts that sit under the BBCβs βPopβ Network brands, from Radio 1βs 6 Degrees with Jamie and Spencer and Scarlett Moffat Wants To Believe to Asian Networkβs At Home with The Khans. Beyond βchatty entertainmentβ titles, her main focus for this year is a slate of music podcasts like βSongs To Live Byβ. Her remit also includes BBC TV companion podcasts, like the very successful βObsessed withβ¦β strand. LBP (Life Before Podcasts) included making linear radio documentaries, and producing and Exec producing various specialist music shows for Radio 1 and 1Xtra.
π£ WHAT IS MIC'S PODCAST CLUB?
MIC's (virtual) Podcast Club is a space for podcasters to get advice from each other, chew the fat and be amongst your tribe for a couple of hours a month.
The virtual aspect means that YOU CAN COME FROM ANYWHERE!
MIC's Podcast Club is a free-for-all QnA asked and answered by the community there on the night. All designed to help you make awesome podcasts. We also invite the odd special guest!
We've covered loads of useful stuff like sponsorship, media coverage, mailing lists, trailers, remote recording, audiograms, microphones, growing your audience, "shortcasts" and rating and reviews.
