It's time to figure out how to wade through this Post-Truth era that we are drifting into, without the polarization that characterizes so many online attempts at actively attempting to discuss almost ANY issue. Think of this as a Speakers' Corner (London) for Kansas City. The human hive mind might be the only (trusted?) tool we have to make it through this next year (decade?). I think that we MUST be able to sit in a room with strangers and discuss and disagree without losing control of our emotions, or losing respect for others or ourselves. I think we need to be able to test our resolutions by defending them. And I think the whole thing can and should be FUN! And so, we'll probably have to form some sort of Constitution. One proposal that has occurred to me is that an intense discussion in a bar could go haywire. And so we'll discuss how we avoid that. Perhaps the first thing you have to say into the microphone is how many drinks you've had. Then you get your 2 minutes. Or whatever. This is hopefully going to build a life of its own. Please note: if there is a paucity of people that are willing to share, I will play and sing semi-obscure cover songs (you can too!), and the microphone is always open to any artistic endeavor. Come be a real human being.
