What we’re about

It's time to figure out how to wade through this post-Truth world. Nothing more (or less) than the human hive-mind can do it, and the internet can be a perfectly miserable place to engage in almost any form of serious discussion. I'm hoping to formulate a standard with which groups of strangers of multi-varied mindsets and backgrounds can get together and discuss hard issues without falling into the untenable polarization that seems to rule online interactions. Can people debate a topic without losing control of their emotions? We need to meet each other face to face to re-humanize while sharing and discussing our concerns. I plan to start this as a form of Speaker's Corner https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speakers%27_Corner, but with an keen eye on forming some form of agreement about how to keep the post-rant discussions civil, and productive. I think that requires us coming up with some form of Constitution for the room. There is a microphone and a PA, and you can use it. We'll figure out guidelines as we go, and if no one wants to speak, I'll play and sing mildly obscure cover songs on guitar. You can play too. Come to think, share, play, discuss or listen. I'm hoping to decrease the space between people who think differently than each other. Let's create some human moments.
