Philosopher's Open Mic?

In our inaugural Philosopher's Open Mic, two weeks ago, the sole intrepid attendee to the publically open bar corrected me within the first 45 seconds of talking to her. SHE WAS EXACTLY CORRECT! It's not a debate I/We are looking for: a debate is something you win or lose. We are looking for a DICUSSION. And discussions were had. Some unsuspecting patrons joined in and points were made and laughs were had. The second microphone, placed in the audience to enable off-stage intejections got some use, but it is not required. Come down and find the table with the Meetup table tent and enjoy some company of people who are attempting to make sense of the day's/week's events. "Sense-making" is a sloppy phrase that people tend to scoff at, but that is the goal, and the hive mind here in Kansas City should begin to gather in person to be proactive about how we, as a society should move forward. Even if it just starts as listening to some music in a brewery on Monday nights. Bring yourself, your instrument, your poems, your opinion, and/or at least your good faith. All are welcome - come be a human being. I intend to breifly expound on the idea of the first lie that we might encounter during any given day. It's not on the radio, or the TV. It's right there on your bottle of shampoo. 3-in-1 my ass. Tell all you friends that are funny drinkers, or drinking thinkers. Non drinkers welcome as well. See you there!
