New York City Bagels are supposed to be the best in the nation. Their secret? Water from our backyards. The Ashokan Reservoir provides fresh water to thousands of city dwellers — but its construction cost the Valley a dozen villages. Join us to learn about the history of the reservoir, its impact on local lives and farms, and its future. It changed the valley forever. Was it good or bad? Is it sustainable? How is climate change impacting it?
After a scenic walk, we will meet for lunch at Bread Alone, the Country’s First Carbon-Neutral Bakery, at theie Boiceville location.
